 IMPEACHMENT AND VACANCIES

Section A: Impeachment of Officers
I. Charges may be brought against an officer by any member of the organization, provided that there is feasible evidence or reasonable allegations resulting in a thorough investigation of the accused.
II. An emergency meeting will be held, dictated by the President, to mediate the situation along with a third party unbiased to the situation. This third party may be a faculty member, staff, college council, or a representative from YFS. The accused officer shall be provided with an opportunity to voice their defence and provide adequate reason for their wrongdoing.
III. Once the accused has given their defence, the executive committee may begin questioning the officer. The President and third-party mediator present are to ensure that the questions being asked are on reasonable grounds and do not escalate to harassment or mistreatment of the officer.
IV. After the hearing, the executive team are to decide the course of disciplinary action, excluding the accused officer. The third-party mediator may offer advice but the final decision will be decided by the team via a vote. This is to be done in a separate room away from the officer and must be decided no longer than 15min. after the hearing.
V. Impeachment will occur when there is a unanimous vote by the executive committee, excluding the accused officer, to dismiss said officer. A vote consisting of 2/3rd of the voting party is required to effect the resignation of the officer.
Section B: Filling Vacancies
All vacancies in elected positions shall be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term. If one or more officers are unable to assume or continue with their duties, the remaining shall hold a special election to fill those vacancies under the guidelines for elections in this document.
